Wheat
With its oldest evidence dating back 10,000 years, wheat is the second oldest grain after barley. There are approximately 5,000 different wheat varieties worldwide, and wheat is cultivated on approximately 220 million hectares.
Wheat is a staple food used in the production of flour and feed. Wheats are divided into three main groups: the spa group, the durum wheat group, and the bread wheat group.
Nutritious golden wheat grains are used in the production of bread, pasta, beer, pizza, and animal feed. The hulls can be removed or milled with the hulls. After harvest, hay bales are produced as a feed product.
Most of the world’s population depends on wheat as a traditional grain and staple food.
