Sunflower Meal

Sunflower meal is the pulp remaining after the oil is extracted from whole sunflower seeds and ground.

Sunflower meal is of great importance in animal husbandry and is frequently used as a mixed feed. It is a type of feed suitable not only for dairy and livestock farmers but also for poultry farmers. Similarly, using sunflower meal as feed for chickens is known to increase egg production.

Sunflower meal is divided into two groups. The distinction is based on the amount or quantity of sunflower hulls. The hull-free group has a protein content of 40% or more and a cellulose content of 15%. The hull-infused group has a protein content of approximately 15% and a cellulose content of up to 38%. Sunflower meal, a source of cellulose, protein and energy, is a good source of nutrition for our farmers engaged in dairy and livestock farming.
