Businessman Mete İçcan Receives ‘Sports Türkiye’ Award – 16.12.2011 İskenderun.Org

Businessman Mete İçcan was honored with an award for his contributions to sports during and after his tenure as President of Kırıkhan Sports Club in Hatay at an event jointly organized by Haliç University and the website sportürkiye.com.

The awards ceremony, held for the 10th time this year at the Haliç University meeting hall, was attended by athletes from both Turkey and abroad. Among those present were Capone, who served Galatasaray in the 2000s; Hugo Sanches, an unforgettable player for Real Madrid and the Mexican National Team; Ogün and Hami of Trabzonspor; and numerous other renowned football figures.

The 10th Annual Turkish Sportsmen Awards were presented at the event jointly organized by Haliç University and the website sportürkiye.com. Among the 29 recipients of the award at this year’s 10th annual ceremony, businessman Mete İçcan, former President of Kırıkhan Sports Club, was awarded the 2010-2011 3rd League Special Award. National Team Coach Abdullah Avcı presented Mete İçcan with the award.

Businessman Mete İçcan stepped down as Kırıkhanspor President at the end of last year and continued his support through sponsorship services under the Özova Group of companies. Having previously received an award for his service to sports at a ceremony organized by the Hatay branch of TURFAD (Turkish Football Association) in İskenderun, Mete İçcan was presented with a second award at a ceremony held in Istanbul.
