Özova’s Wheat Harvest Tradition Hasn’t Been Broken for 36 Years – Kırıkhan Olay

The first wheat harvest has been held in the Amik Plain, and a 36-year-old tradition hasn’t been broken. ÖZOVA TARIM, the region’s largest farmer-friendly company, made the first purchase at a symbolic price.

Wheat, grown in the fertile soil of the Amik Plain, is one of the crops that farmers hope for the future. Wheat planted in barren lands has matured and sprouted, and harvesting has begun with combine harvesters.

THE ÖZOVA DIFFERENCE

Farmers eager to reap the rewards of their labor in the production process aim to sell their products at the best price. The name that has met this demand has remained the same for 36 years: ÖZOVA TARIM.

Wheat, a growing priority in the country’s agriculture sector and a state-incentivized production sector, is expected to be a high harvest this year.

ÖZOVA TARIM, a farmer-friendly company that has been purchasing farmers’ products above market value for years, has completed all preparations for wheat purchases.

ÖZOVA TARIM, which opened the season by purchasing the region’s first wheat at a symbolic price, will continue its purchasing policy this year to ensure that local farmers receive a reward for their hard work.

The wheat grains are carefully separated from their golden stalks and ears using technological tools and stored in ÖZOVA TARIM’s silos, a significant contributor to the Turkish economy. The remaining stalks are baled using agricultural equipment and machinery and used as forage. Due to the high prices of forage, farmers are supplementing their incomes.

Murat İçcan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ÖZOVA TARIM, stated that they meet all the needs of farmers through agriculture, saying, “We are striving to do everything in our power to develop our country’s agriculture and eliminate external dependency. A developing, developing, and growing farmer creates a country’s agricultural independence. We will mobilize all our resources to ensure our farmers are rewarded for their hard work. Because of our procurement policy of this kind for 36 years, we are considered FARMER-FRIENDLY. This year, our procurement policy will be geared towards ensuring our farmers’ profits. We wish all our farmers good and bountiful crops.”
